Like your tone, but wanna take it to the next level? The drive2 is for guys like you! This pedal is a flat EQ all-tube overdrive. It effectively adds another tube to the preamp of your favorite amplifier--a sort of mod in a box.
The drive2 applies high voltage (140VDC) to the plates of a premium 12AX7 tube to transparently make your signal drip with complex harmonics, saturation, and touch sensitivity without altering the underlying signature of your precious tone with no artificial bump in the mids.
The secret to the drive2 is in its simplicity. It features a gain control with a range which goes from clean through warm saturated overdrive, and into clipping distortion to cover a wide variety of complex tones. There is also a level control which limits--wait for it--level. By popular demand, we threw in a filter control that gets out of your way when dimed. That's it! Nothing else is in there to ultimately get in the way or alter your sound! No tone controls. No silicon. Just more of what you have worked so hard to achieve.
Since the drive2 is built like an amplifier's preamp, it is designed to work with your guitar's pickups and your amplifier and does not create the tone sucking problems other overdrive pedals do. It is also designed to work with your volume control to let you control the amount of saturation right from your guitar.
Use the gain control to dial in ultra smooth preamp overdrive and the level control to drive your tube amp into (or farther into) power amp saturation. The filter control lets you roll off some of the highs if you really want to. There is an incredible array of tonal control available from just three knobs, and the drive2 doesn't just push your mids like the tube screamer and its many clones. The drive2 is full-range and pushes everything!
